Welcome to my little cycling blog. The primary purpose of this is for me to keep track of rides and hill climbs. RouteSlip used to work for that, but it seems to have some serious bugs and is no longer working properly, last I checked. So I have switched to VeloRoutes. The one thing that RouteSlip had that veloroutes did not was the ability to save your routes and keep track of them. With veloroutes, if you lose your link, you may never retrieve it. That’s where this blog comes in. I can add any ride/route/hill I with some nice commentary. Beyond that, I used this blog to discuss my new bike (which was an involved process since I got a custom frame from Circle A Cycles here in Providence – look here for all the posts related to that) and I will use it for other cycling related web-projects. Enjoy! If you want to find out more about me, go here.

And why “brentani,” you ask? Back at University of Michigan, that became my nickname on the team. It was less because of my climbing skill than because I was such a Marco Pantani fan, and because I owned (and still own) a nice collection of team Carrera clothing and was always partial to briko sunglasses. (I’m still looking for a reasonably priced pair of Stingers to replace my worn out Zen’s.) I still miss Pantani every time I watch pro cycling. Sure he may have doped (like everyone else), but there hasn’t been anyone who is anywhere near that fun to watch since (with the possible exception of Michele Bartoli in the spring classics…)
